Pen High is pleased to offer an Indigenous Education program for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous students. The program is supplemental and two tiered focusing on cultural enrichment and academic / personal support. From a cultural planning perspective, the Indigenous Ed. program offers, at minimum one cultural opportunity per month where students will have the can to learn a rich diversity of Indigenous cultural expression. Pow Wows, Pictographs, Louis Riel Day, Four Food Feasts Celebration, Guests speakers etc. are just a few of the many cultural enrichment activities that are offered in our program. Our program also works closely with Pen High administration and teachers to offer Indigenous Perspectives both in the classroom and through school wide assemblies. Additionally, students are supported by the Indigenous Education teacher and educational assistant in a variety of ways - course changes, social-emotional support, post secondary application process, aboriginal specific scholarships and bursary resources and assistance with anything school related. The Indigenous program is open to any student that identifies as being Indigenous.
